You wouldn't argue that the use of a keyboard to control a vehicle is unnatural (though I, and you, as it figures ), use it). Nothing is wrong with the keys except for the fact that the wheel is designed to simulate real steering wheel w/pedals, etc. Thank you for taking time to read my views on WRC 8. It is a huge upgrage from WRC 7 for anyone wondering. Though I still find DR 2.0 to be more enjoyable. These are some instances of what I've experienced from trying out WRC 8, it has promise. The weight momentum is still a meh ( car feels a bit too light and almost cannot carry momentum through a corner and can flip easily even after hitting a small bank) Is a mix bag, it feels a bit too grippy even on loose gravel ( driving fast but takes a short time too brake). I've tried hitting the water splash at high speed and then proceed to experiment with low speed and I'm surprised that both of the sound produce is the same ( almost like a repeated audio track for every puddle) The sound of hitting a water splash sounds so fake. I've had hopes in terms of sound immersion ( as people from WRC 7 keep telling people that WRC have good sound immersion) Which is expected when you have an official licence. Game also suffered from sudden frame drops once in a while ( crashed a few times because of this).īut I do applaud WRC 8 in terms of overall content and track design though. The game feels reminiscent of DR 1 where even small bumps would send you flying and there's almost no feeling of suspension travel when going through bumps. Unlike DR 2.0 where you can see gradual wheel turn.
#Wrc 8 too difficult driver
PS, anyone playing with a controller wouldn't like the image of the driver hand stuttering at the steering wheel. The graphic difference between them is shocking ( hood view has better graphics while cockpit view, everything is washed out and the track details decreases in cockpit view. While I don’t find it too distracting, if they could fix it that would be awesome.Overall, the game still feels a bit unpolished, for example the cockpit view and the hood view. Only complaint is how some shadows are handled on some stages, as they drawn right in front of the car, literally. Lots of features, topnotch gameplay, nice presentation for the Switch, it’s a 9/10 for me. So if you add all that to an already very good game, you simply get the ultimate WRC experience, the best rally game ever released on a handheld, period. The Corolla is one of my favorite WRC cars ever, so very happy with that!!! - I might be wrong on this one, but I think lighting has been improved. Some classic cars are available, such as the Corolla (available through DLC), Xsara, and Focus. I attached a couple screenshots so you can get an idea of what’s possible. You even have a showcase mode from the main menu, where you can select the car, weather, etc. This one is pretty nice, all the features you’d expect are there. Ě photo mode!!!! I just love photo mode in videogames. It really adds a lot to the aesthetics, by “hiding” some of the not-so-pretty assets. Especially on Switch where the surroundings are far from being detailed, with low resolution, etc. This might not seem like a big deal, but during replays it is like night and day with respect to the overall looks of the game. The most important one is that the Argentina stages are now all playable with a perfectly constant 30 fps. Such as the erratic “jump” the car was making before it would get to the start line, or some “missing text” glitch on the reports you got after an event, or those horrendous water splashes showing up before the car would actually touch the water, or in my case being stuck in WRC 2 forever despite performing all the recommended actions and being WRC2 champ multiple times (heard that it was a bug very early on). Main reasons for me are : -Ěll the glitches that I would personally be irritated by, were fixed. I’ve put quite a lot time on WRC 8, and though both games are not that different from each other, I do think that WRC 9 is worth a purchase even if you own the previous installment. I’ve put quite a lot time on WRC 8, and though both I strongly think this game deserves more attention and I’m glad Kylotonn made this port. I strongly think this game deserves more attention and I’m glad Kylotonn made this port.
